During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are accepting online or call ahead orders with curbside delivery. When you check-out, please specify what time you want to pick up your order. We will do our best to have it ready for you. When you arrive at Rainbow Snow, park in a designated pick-up spot, text 717-838-5744 with the spot number and your order number, and we will bring your order to you. Minimum order of $8 required.

UPDATES: Rainbow Snow's outdoor seating area is now available for table delivery. Let us know what table you are at when you place your online or phone order. Our walk-up window is also now open. Our dining room will remain closed for the remainder of the season.

Ordering and Policies FAQ

Below are some answers to questions you may have about our new systems. Please feel free to email us at with other questions.

How do I place an order?

Our preferred method is for orders to be placed via this website. We are also taking phone orders starting half an hour before we open each day. During our busiest times, you may have trouble getting through via phone if we are already on the line. Please be patient and understand that we are taking phone orders as fast as we can.

Update: As of July 3, our walk-up window is also open. Please be advised that there may be longer wait times for window service. See more below.

Why use the web site?

The web site is always open and can handle many parties at once. Plus, you can order hours in advance. Online or phone orders that have been placed ahead of time will be given priority over last second orders. Plan ahead, make your order from home, come get it, and we’ll make every effort to have it ready for you at the specified time. We can make no guarantee of wait times if you drive to the shop and then call us.

How can I pay for my order?

We are accepting payments via Paypal through our online ordering system. You do not have to have a Paypal account in order to do this, just a credit/debit card. We will also accept credit cards or gift cards by phone. We cannot accept paper gift certificates, stamp cards or coupons online or over the phone at this time, although all remain valid when we reopen for normal business.

Can I pay with cash?

To pay with cash, you will need to order by phone or come to our walk-up window.

How do I pick up my order?

When you place your order online, you will have the option to select what time you want to pick it up. We will do our best to have it ready at that time. When you arrive at Rainbow Snow, park or stand in one of the designated spots for pick-up, then text us with the pick-up spot and your order number or name. We will bring the order out to you.

Can I have someone else pick  up my online order?

Sure! Just have them text us the order number and name when they arrive, along with their parking spot of course.

What are we doing to help keep ourselves and all of you as safe as possible?

We’re following the governments’ advice here. In addition to our already very high standards for sanitation in our shop, we have added extra sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces at opening and every 30 minutes while we are open, and we're washing our hands even more frequently than normal. Of course, we’re also all wearing face masks in the shop.

We’ve also closed our dining room for the remainder of this season to minimize our contact with you and your contact with other people. To that point, owners Ben and Ann are the only people making curbside deliveries. We greatly appreciate when customers are also wearing masks when we make deliveries.

Will the walk-up window open this season?

After very serious consideration and lots of hand-wringing, we decided to open the walk-up window when Lebanon County transitioned to the green phase. We have clearly marked the sidewalk for people to social distance while standing in line, put up plexiglass barriers at the order and pick-up window, and added a wood barrier between the order and pick-up windows. We are relying on you, dear customer, to follow social distancing guidelines and please to wear a mask to protect yourselves and others when you come to the window.

Window service may take longer than other methods of ordering because we can only serve one customer at a time.

Will the dining room ever re-open?

We don't know yet. What we do know is that it will remain closed for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Can we eat out back at the picnic tables?

Yes, we re-opened our backyard seating area as allowed by the state on June 5.

If you want your order made ‘for here’ (no lids/bags, cone in dish instead of on the side, items in waffle bowls, etc.), let us know when you place your order, and we will bring the order to your table on a tray.

Can I still redeem stamp cards?

You can redeem stamp cards if you order at the window. We will continue to give out new stamp cards for curbside pick-up or table deliveries, but we are not able to redeem them via these methods. Save them up though. They never expire.

What if I want to place a bulk order of ice cream sandwiches (or get specific flavors)?

Call us! We won’t be able to fulfill bulk ice cream sandwich orders or allow specific flavors to be chosen through online ordering. Ice cream sandwiches take two days to make/package, so allow some time if you're making a bulk order.

Why can’t I get everything that used to be on the menu?

Our menu is slightly more limited than you might be used to, in part because we are trying to limit trips to the grocery store to buy perishable items and items that need to be restocked frequently. That’s why you won’t see banana products or floats on our menu right now. If you are ordering for curb-side pickup, all cones will be served on the side.  Otherwise, you should be able to find everything else you are accustomed to ordering.

How are you doing?

We’re doing fine all things considered, thanks for wondering. We’ve been practicing stay in place isolation since the schools shut down. We’ve got all the same concerns as everyone else and the apartment feels very full with all four of us together all the time, but we’re fortunate to be healthy and counting our blessings. We hope you are also well, healthy, and staying safe.
